I am thrilled to announce that Putting Joy into Practice: Seven Ways to Lift Your Spirit from the Early Church will be published by Paraclete Press, God willing, in early 2019! I have been working on this book for over five years, and I cannot wait to share it with you.

Putting Joy into Practice started with two questions: Why is it so hard to have joy when we all want it? What can we do to make it easier to live in joy?

In Putting Joy into Practice, I share my experiences and struggles with joy. I share stories of others along the path to joy. I explain what joy is and how to experience it through seven spiritual practices that cultivate our inner lives and connect us to our communities. These seven practices, which include giving thanks, hospitality, praises, and more, take us on a journey that leads to joy through the giving and receiving of sacrificial love.

The book offers practical ways to implement these practices to increase joy in our own lives and in the lives of all those around us. You might be surprised at some of those ways. I haven’t shared any practices I have not tried and lived myself. It’s a book you can put to use on your own, with your family, in a book club, or in a church ministry.

Today, I get to reveal the cover of the book. Soon, I’ll be able to share pre-order information from Paraclete Press and all major booksellers.
